Gwendolyn Betty Westwood was born in 1923, the daughter of Frederick Ernest Wood and his wife Olive. She joined Westminster Bank in 1939 as a temporary wartime clerk, working at the bank's London Aldwych branch.
At 2pm on 30 June 1944 Aldwych branch was struck and wrecked by a flying bomb, killing four members of staff, including Gwendolyn Westwood. She was 20 years old.
Gwendolyn Westwood is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
