Emma Charlotte Wilkins was born in 1888, the daughter of Frank and Harriet Wilkins. She joined the staff of London County Westminster & Parr's Bank (later known as Westminster Bank) in 1918, after having worked as a book-keeper for a butcher. She worked for the bank for the next 26 years.

 

At 2pm on 30 June 1944 London Aldwych branch, where she worked, was struck and wrecked by a flying bomb, killing four members of staff, including Emma Wilkins. She was 55 years old.

 

Emma Wilkins is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
