Marion Daisy Tilley was born on 19 December 1925, the daughter of George Read Tilley and his wife.

In July 1942 Tilley joined the staff of National Provincial Bank as a temporary clerk in the trustee department, in the bank's head office in London.

Just over a month later, on 23 August 1942, Marion Tilley was accidentally killed by a landmine in Devon. She was 16 years old.
