Frank James Tilbrook was born on 23 April 1923. He joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank in November 1939, and the following month was posted to the bank's Southwark branch.
Tilbrook later left the bank to join the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, becoming a Sergeant (Pilot). He was killed when the Wellington bomber he was flying crashed in Austria on 7 July 1944. He was 21 years old.
