Colin Price Thomas was born on 17 September 1922, the son of Ryland and Maud Thomas. In June 1940 he went to work for The National Bank as a temporary clerk at its Cardiff branch, moving to Swansea branch five months later. He was released for military service just over a year later, in December 1941, joining the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Flying Officer Thomas was killed in a flying accident in Egypt on 30 November 1945. He was 23 years old.
Colin Thomas is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 250 Bishopsgate, London.
