Peter Selby Robathan was born on 20 May 1917, the son of Herbert Noel and Charlotte Lilian Robathan. He joined the staff of Westminster Bank in September 1935, and from December 1938 worked at the bank's London Clerkenwell branch.
During the Second World War Robathan left the bank to go on war service, becoming an ambulance driver in the Royal Army Service Corps. Driver Robathan died in France at some date between June and November 1940. He was 23 years old.
Peter Robathan is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Aldersgate Street branch.
