Brian Larcum Rogers was born on 13 September 1922, the son of William Herbert and Gertrude Mary Rogers. He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and Clark's College, London. He joined the staff of District Bank as a junior at its London Cornhill branch in October 1939.
In March 1941 Rogers left the bank to go on war service, joining the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. On 15 October 1942, while he was serving with an operational training unit, Sergeant Pilot Rogers was killed when the Whitley bomber in which he was training was shot down over the Bay of Biscay. He was 20 years old.
