John McKendrick

John McKendrick worked for National Bank of Scotland as an apprentice at its Glasgow Govan Road branch.
During the Second World War he left the bank to go on military service, becoming a Colour Sergeant in the Highland Light Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 10 July 1944.
John McKendrick is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Gogarburn campus, Edinburgh.
