Howard Moren was born on 14 September 1921, the son of Thomas Henry and Mary Emma Moren. In September 1938 he went to work for Westminster Bank in its London Threadneedle Street office. Outside work he was a member of the bank's staff sports club.
During the Second World War Moren left the bank to go on war service, becoming a Sergeant Pilot in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was killed on 20 December 1941, while participating in the defence of Malta. He was 20 years old.
Howard Moren is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
