Angus Laidlaw MacNab was born on 4 May 1917, the son of Isabella and Angus MacNab, head gamekeeper of the Foulis estate near Dingwall. By 1938 he was a member of the staff of National Bank of Scotland. He worked at the bank's branches in branches in Fort William and, later, Nairn.
During the Second World War McNab left the bank to go on military service, and by 1944 was a Major in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He was killed in action in France on 12 September 1944. He was 27 years old.
Angus MacNab is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Gogarburn campus, Edinburgh.
