Hugh Robb Logsdail was born in Cornwall on 9 May 1922, the son of Edward George Logsdail and his wife Constance. He grew up in Bristol, and was educated at Bristol Grammar School between 1933 and 1939.
In October 1939 he joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank at its Clifton Regent Street branch. Less than 8 months later, shortly after turning 18, he resigned from the bank to join the army. By 1944 he was a Lieutenant in the Lincolnshire Regiment, serving in Normandy. He died of wounds there on 11 July 1944. He was 22 years old.
Hugh Logsdail is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest Bristol Queen's Road branch.
