Brian Domingo Hare was born on 9 September 1925, the son of Harvey George and Lillie Violet Hare. He joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank in September 1941, at around the time of his 16th birthday. After a month at machine accountancy school he was assigned to the bank's London Brondesbury branch.
Hare later left the bank to go on war service, becoming an Aircraftman (Second Class) in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was killed while undergoing training in South Africa on 7 November 1945. He was 20 years old.
Brian Hare is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Kilburn branch.
