Alexander Masson Grant was born in about 1919, the son of Alexander Masson Grant and May Thomson Grant. He worked for Commercial Bank of Scotland at its Glasgow Queen Street branch.
During the Second World War Grant left the bank to go on military service. By 1945 he was a Lieutenant in the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles). He died in Germany on 9 March 1945. He was 26 years old.
Alexander Grant is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Gogarburn campus, Edinburgh.
