Robert Davidson was born in 1919, the son of Catherine and William Davidson. He worked for National Bank of Scotland in its Elie branch.
During the Second World War Davidson left the bank to go on military service. He became a Private in the Royal Army Medical Corps, and was posted to the British Military Hospital at Alexandra Park, Singapore. He was killed there during the Fall of Singapore, 14-15 February 1942. He was 22 years old.
Robert Davidson is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Gogarburn campus, Edinburgh.
