Lawrence Clark was born on 2 May 1922, the son of William Samuel and Laura Emily Clark. He joined the temporary wartime staff of Westminster Bank in October 1939, working at its Plaistow branch in East London.
Clark later left the bank to go on war service, and by 1944 he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Armoured Corps. He died in Italy on 11 October 1944. He was 22 years old.
Lawrence Clark is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London East Ham branch.
