Kenneth Stanway Carr was born in 1921, the son of James John and Hilda Ivy Carr. In 1938 he went to work for Williams Deacon's Bank, and by 1941 was based at its Manchester Trafford Park branch.
In May 1941 Carr left the bank to go on war service, and by 1944 he was a Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was killed in action on a flight over the Netherlands on 19 August 1944. He was 23 years old.
Kenneth Carr is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Hardman Boulevard office, Manchester.
