Bank: Westminster Bank
Place of work: Nottingham Market Place branch
Died: 28 March 1942
Kenneth Bachelor was born on 29 October 1919, the son of Charles Edward and Violet Annie Bachelor. He joined the staff of Westminster Bank on his 17th birthday in 1936, at its branch in Heanor. In July 1939 he transferred to Nottingham Market Place branch. A colleague there later remembered him as ‘modest and unassuming, yet with a dignity that could not fail to impress’.

Temporary Sub-Lieutenant Bachelor was initially listed as missing after the St Nazaire raid in March 1942, during which he was part of the crew of a motor launch. It was later confirmed that he had been killed in the course of the raid, on 28 March 1942. He was 22 years old.
