Thomas Wilding was born in London on 9 October 1897. He worked for Union of London & Smiths Bank.

In September 1914 Wilding left his job at the bank's London North Audley Street branch to join the army, serving as a Private in the Middlesex Regiment. He died in France on 5 April 1917. He was 19 years old.

Thomas Wilding is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office and on another held at NatWest Group Archives.
