Oliver Cromwell Wall was born in Friern Barnet, Middlesex, in 1896, the son of Henry Cromwell Wall and his wife Minnie Harriett Bryer Wall. In October 1914 he went to work for Parr's Bank.
In May 1915 Wall left his job at the bank's London Bartholomew Lane office to join the army, serving initially in the Hertfordshire Yeomanry and later as a Lance Corporal in the Tank Corps. He died in hospital at Etaples, France, on 23 October 1918. He was 21 years old.
Oliver Wall is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
