Harold Hadfield Walker was born in March 1887, the son of John George Walker and his wife Susan. In July 1902 he went to work for Manchester & County Bank at its Chapel-en-le-Frith branch. He later transferred to Manchester Piccadilly branch.
In September 1914 Walker left the bank to join the army. Corporal Harold Hadfield Walker of the Manchester Regiment died of wounds in France on 11 August 1916. He was 29 years old.
