Reginald Victor Vigar was born in Cromhall, Gloucestershire, in 1897, the son of William Tucker Vigar, a farm bailiff, and his wife Mary. He worked for Union of London & Smiths Bank.
During the First World War Vigar left his job at the bank's Bedminster (Bristol Old Bank) branch to join the army. Private Reginald Victor Vigar of the Gloucestershire Regiment died in Malta on 23 October 1916. He was 19 years old.
Reginald Vigar is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office.
