Reginald Norman Trafford was born in Chorley, Lancashire, in 1898, the son of Walter and Maud Trafford. He worked for Williams Deacon's Bank.
In February 1917 Trafford left his job at the bank's Manchester Strangeways branch to go on military service, becoming a Private in the Northamptonshire Regiment. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 22 August 1918. He was 19 years old.
Reginald Trafford is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Hardman Boulevard office, Manchester.
