Jack Trenbath was born on 28 September 1896, the son of George and Edith Mary Trenbath. In November 1913 he went to work for Manchester & Liverpool District Banking Co as a junior at its head office in Manchester.
In March 1916 Trenbath left the bank to go on military service. By 1918 he was a Second Lieutenant in the East Lancashire Regiment. He was killed in action in France on 8 September 1918. He was 21 years old.
