Eric John Snow was born on 10 January 1893. In May 1911, when he was 18 years old, he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank. He also joined the bank's sports club, where he was a member of the hockey team.

In August 1914 Snow left his job as a clerk at the bank's London head office to join the army, becoming a Private in the Honourable Artillery Company. He died on the Western Front on 16 June 1915. He was 22 years old.
