William Rollo

William Rollo was born in about 1895, the son of John and Agnes Rollo. In May 1910 he went to work for Commercial Bank of Scotland. In April 1914 he was appointed to the staff of Glasgow Queen Street branch.
Early in the First World War Rollo left the bank to go on military service as a Private in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He was killed in action in France on 10 September 1915. He was 20 years old.
William Rollo is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
