Arthur Owen Robinson was born in Sheffield in 1897, the son of John Arthur Robinson, a wine and spirit merchant, and his wife Ann Jane. He worked for National Provincial Bank of England.
During the First World War Robinson left his job at the bank's Sheffield Wicker branch to join the army. By 1918 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment), on active service in France. He died there on 21 March 1918. He was 20 years old.
