Haydn Pattinson was born in Repton, Derbyshire, in 1897, the son of John Pattinson, a postmaster and shopkeeper, and his wife Stella. From about 1912 he worked for Parr's Bank.
During the First World War Pattinson left his job at the bank's Melbourne branch to join the army, becoming a Private in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He was killed in action on the Somme on 3 September 1916. He was 19 years old.
Haydn Pattinson is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest Ashby de la Zouch branch.
