Francis Maurice Price was born on 5 April 1898. In October 1914, when he was 16 years old, he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank as a junior at London Foreign branch.

In June 1915 Price left the bank to join the army. By 1917 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Lincolnshire Regiment, on active service in France. He died on 4 June 1917, of wounds received in action. He was 19 years old.
