Frederick Bruce Olding was born on 27 July 1885. In February 1917 he started working for London County & Westminster Bank. Five months later, he left his job as a clerk at the bank's Deptford branch to go on military service, becoming a Private in the London Regiment. He was killed in action on 30 November 1917. He was 32 years old and left a widow, Ellen, whom he had married in 1913.
