Reginald Harry Male was born in Wyke Hill, Winchester, on 25 February 1897, the son of George Henry Male and his wife Caroline Fanny. He worked for Union of London & Smiths Bank at its Alton branch.
Early in the First World War Male left the bank to go on military service, becoming a Lance Corporal in the Machine Gun Corps. He died on the Western Front on 18 September 1918. He was 21 years old.
Reginald Male is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest City of London office.
