Died: 3 May 1917

In January 1899, when he was 18 years old, he went to work for London & County Bank at its London Earl's Court branch. In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank, and Monday became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank. He worked for some time at the bank's London Aldersgate branch and, in November 1913, moved to Guildford branch.

Monday was a territorial soldier, and was mobilised at the outbreak of war in August 1914, leaving the bank to go on active service as a Lance Serjeant in the London Regiment. He was posted to France in September 1914. He was later commissioned into the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders).

Second Lieutenant Cyril Monday died in France on 3 May 1917. He was 36 years old.
