Paul Ernest Luckock was born in the Seychelle Islands on 20 April 1889, the son of a missionary with the Church Missionary Society. He was educated at Monoux School, Walthamstow and Clark's College, London. In April 1907 he went to work for Williams Deacon's Bank at its office in Birchin Lane, London.
In November 1915 Luckock left the bank to join the army, becoming a Private in the Royal Fusiliers. He died of sickness in a military hospital in Liverpool on 2 May 1918. He was 29 years old.
Paul Luckock is commemorated on a bank war memorial at Hardman Boulevard office, Manchester.
