William Wyatt Jagger was born in Lancashire in July 1883, the son of William Jagger, a clerk, and his wife Sarah Ann. In September 1899 he went to work for Manchester & County Bank.
In September 1914 Jagger left his job at the bank's Manchester head office to join the army, becoming a Rifleman in the Rifle Brigade. He was killed in action in France on 17 June 1915. He was 31 years old.
