Stanley Arthur Jagelman was born in London on 1 January 1892, the son of James John Jagelman, a print worker, and his wife Keturah. In June 1910, when he was 18 years old, he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.
In October 1915 Jagelman left his job as a clerk at the bank's London Kensington (OP) branch to join the army. By 1918 he was a Lance Corporal in The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). He was severely wounded in action on 9 May 1918, and died the following day from his injuries. He was 26 years old and left a widow, Charlotte, whom he had married in 1916.
Stanley Jagelman is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Kensington Royal Gardens branch.
