Kenneth Healing was born on 15 December 1893, the son of John Healing and his wife Emmeline. In March 1912, when he was 18 years old, Healing went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.

In October 1914 Healing left his job as a clerk at the bank's Leighton Buzzard branch to join the army. By 1917 he was a Second Lieutenant in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). He died in France on 27 April 1917. He was 23 years old.
