George Frank Hatchett was born in London in 1895, the son of John Hatchett, a grocer, and his wife Ada. From about 1909 he worked for Parr's Bank.
The day after war broke out in August 1914, Hatchett left his job at the bank's Kingston-upon-Thames branch to join the army, becoming a Private in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He died of enteric fever on Malta on 30 September 1916. He was 21 years old.
