David James Horn was born in Deptford in about 1897, the son of David James Horn, a clerk, and his wife Mary. In about 1914 he went to work for Parr's Bank.
In September 1915 Horn left his job in the bank's head office general manager's department to join the army, becoming a Bombardier in the Honourable Artillery Company. He died in hospital in Leeds on 7 December 1918. He was 21 years old.
David Horn is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
