Thomas Robert Grosvenor was born on 27 August 1890, the son of the Reverend Frederick Grosvenor. In November 1907, when he was 17 years old, Grosvenor went to work for London & County Bank. In 1909 London & County Bank merged with London & Westminster Bank, and Grosvenor became an employee of the enlarged London County & Westminster Bank.
In July 1916 Grosvenor left his job as a clerk at the bank's London West End office to go on military service. By the following year he was a Second Lieutenant in the London Regiment. He was killed in action on 14 August 1917. He was 26 years old and left a widow, Emily, whom he had married in 1915.
Thomas Grosvenor is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London St James & Piccadilly branch.
