Norman Edgar Gregory was born on 26 July 1892, the son of a clergyman. In June 1910, when he was 17 years old, he went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.
In July 1915 Gregory left his job as a clerk at the bank's London Wandsworth branch to join the army, serving as a Rifleman in the London Regiment. He was killed in action on 10 September 1916. He was 24 years old.
Norman Gregory is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Putney branch.
