Place of work: Paris office
Died: 6 September 1914
Maurice Louis Frontier was born on 3 August 1886 in Paris, France. He began working for London County & Westminster Bank (Paris) at its Paris office upon its foundation in October 1913. Prior to that he had been employed by Lazard Frères & Co, Paris, 1902-7; Eugène Lévy & Co, Paris, 1909-10; and Banque Franco Américaine, Paris, 1910-13. London County & Westminster Bank (Paris) had acquired the latter bank's Paris premises and some of its staff, including Frontier, upon its liquidation in 1913.
When the French army was mobilised at the beginning of the First World War Frontier left his job in the bank's portfolio department to go on active service as a Corporal in the 246th Regiment d'Infanterie. He was declared missing in September 1914, but it was not until the following year that it was declared that he had died at Saint-Soupplets, Seine-et-Marne, on 6 September 1914. He was 28 years old and married.
