Thomas Stanley Davies was born in Birkenhead in 1896, the son of Joseph Davies, a joiner, and his wife Mary Meadows Davies. In about 1912 he went to work for Parr's Bank.
During the First World War Davies left his job in the bank's Birkenhead Charing Cross branch to join the army. Lance Corporal Thomas Stanley Davies of the Royal Fusiliers was killed in action on the Somme on 18 September 1916. He was 20 years old.
Thomas Davies is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest Birkenhead Charing Cross branch.
