Thomas Chambers (also known as John Thomas Chambers) was born in around 1876. He worked for Glyn, Mills, Currie & Co as a messenger in its Town Office.
In October 1916 Chambers left the bank to go on military service as a Private in the London Regiment. He was killed in action in France on 31 July 1917. He was 41 years old and left a widow, Mildred, whom he had married in about 1907.
