Henry Hargreaves Croasdale was born on 23 October 1879. In August 1896, when he was 16 years old, he went to work for Manchester & County Bank at its Blackpool branch.

In September 1914 Croasdale joined the army. Private Croasdale of The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment was accidentally shot in France, and subsequently died in hospital in England on 11 July 1916. He was 36 years old.
