Frederick Marcus Beck Case was born in Caister, Norfolk, on 10 September 1895, the son of William Case, a surgeon, and his wife Muriel Jessie. In July 1912, when he was 16 years old, he went to work for National Provincial Bank of England in the advances department at its London head office.
At the outbreak of the First World War Case joined the army, and by the time of his death in 1916 was serving as a Second Lieutenant in the Norfolk Regiment. He died in France on 10 August 1916. He was 20 years old.
Second Lieutenant Case is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
