Charles Critchley was born in 1891. From 1908 he worked for Williams Deacon's Bank.
During the First World War Critchley left his job at the bank's Wigan branch to join the army, serving as a Private in the Manchester Regiment. He was killed in action in Turkey on 4 June 1915.
