Reginald Leonard Barrett was born in 1898, the son of William John Barrett, a clerk, and his wife Florence. In 1915 he started working for Parr's Bank.
During the First World War Barrett left his job as a clerk at the bank's London Clapham branch to join the army, serving as a Private in The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment). He was killed in action in Belgium on 26 October 1917. He was 19 years old.
Reginald Barrett is commemorated on a bank war memorial at NatWest London Clapham Common branch.
