John Boughey

John Fletcher Boughey was born in Wolverhampton on 11 June 1882, the son of William Fenton Fletcher Boughey, a barrister, and his wife Caroline. He had a twin brother, George. He was educated at Brighton Grammar School, and in 1910 went to work for the London private bank Child & Co. His brother George also became a bank clerk. Outside work, Boughey was involved in leading the Church Lads Brigade at Ealing and Hanwell.

In July 1915 Boughey joined the army. He went to France as a Private in The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment), and was killed in action on 4 October 1917. He was 35 years old.
