Frank Cuthbert Broad was born on 23 March 1898, the son of Joseph George Broad and his wife Beatrice. On his 17th birthday in March 1915 Broad went to work for London County & Westminster Bank.
In July 1916, 18-year-old Broad left his job as a clerk at the bank's Foreign branch in London to join the army. He was commissioned into the London Regiment in May 1917.
Second Lieutenant Frank Cuthbert Broad died in France on 22 September 1918. He was 20 years old.
Frank Broad is commemorated on a bank war memorial held at NatWest Group Archives.
