Peter Harper Anderson was born in 1896. In June 1912, when he was 16 years old, he started work for the Royal Bank of Scotland as an apprentice at its Glasgow St Rollox branch. In April 1913 he transferred to Glasgow St Vincent Street branch.
During the First World War Anderson joined the army, serving as a Corporal in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was killed in France on 27 March 1918.
Peter Anderson is commemorated on a bank war memorial at 36 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.
